The USA again condemns Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani government has made some changes in the law concerning to the Internet use. According to the US State Department fellow worker Thomas Melia this is a violation of the speech freedom and some journalists and bloggers have been arrested because of it. As Azerbaijani “Turan” news agency informs Melia announced about this on September 25 in Warsaw.

Applying to the representatives of the OSCE member-countries, Melia reminded that some journalists and bloggers including the fellow-worker of Radio “Freedom” Azerbaijani service Khadija Ismayilova are pressed and followed by the authorities.
“We strongly call on the authorities to examine all the facts and also those problems which the radio “Freedom” and other foreign-language media representatives have had in Azerbaijan”, the American official said.
